Welcome

to one of the first Thesis’ out of the book of Acts. A book of

the Bible whose meaning is unknown to most German speaking people.

A book of the Bible that is very seldom mentioned by the leadership of

the Catholic or Lutheran denominations. If they would use its message, they

would expose themselves as deceivers. Because in that book we find

the beginning of the Lord’s church, the New Covenant, its demands and the

results in the lives of those who obeyed this will of God and Jesus.

Jesus goes back to heaven Ac. 1:9-11; cf. Daniel, 7:13-14; Rev. ch. 5.

The book of Acts shows the beginning of Jesus’ rulership over the

kingdom of God on this earth, i.e. His church. The date was A.D. 33, 50 days

after His resurrection. On Pentecost Day at 9:00 a.m. It also shows the work

of the Apostles and the work of the Holy Spirit in those who obeyed the New

Covenant. Pentecost means 50th.

All of the Bible books, after the book of Acts are letters to Christian

persons or churches who had been established since that day. All were writ-

ten from the middle to the end of the first Century A.D.. They are best under-

stood by those people who believe, those who are in Christ and therefore

spiritual and not fleshly minded. (1. Cor. 2:14-16)

In the first chapter of the book of Acts we read once more about what

Jesus did after He rose from the death. He was seen by the Apostles and

many other people for 40 days (1. Kor. 15: 3-8).

Just before He went back to heaven he told His Apostles, “I am going

to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have

been clothed with power from on high.” (Lk. 24:49; Jn. 15:26).

...do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which

you have heard me speak about. For John baptized in water, but in a few

days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.” (Ac. 1: 4,5)

Ten days after Jesus’ ascension back to heaven, the Holy Spirit came. He

filled the Apostles completely. That’s why Jesus could call it a baptism, a com-

plete immersion with and in the Holy Spirit. This then fulfilled the promise of

the Father (Jn. 16: 13-15).

Please read this eyewitness account in Ac. 2: 1-13.

On this day of Pentecost many Jews who lived in foreign countries had

come to Jerusalem to worship. The with the Holy Spirit filled Apostles ex-

plained, that what was happening was the fulfillment of a prophecy the

prophet Joel had made (Joel, 3: 1-5). Please read also Ac. 2: 14-21.

The Apostles accused the Jews of having delivered their Messiah to the

Roman’s to have Him crucified.

Those Jews who knew that this was true, were very disturbed about

what they and their leaders had done. They asked the Apostles in repentant

desperation, “Brothers, what shall we do?” (Ac. 2: 37b)

The Apostle Peter answered them,

“Repent and be baptized, everyone of you, in the name of Jesus Christ

for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy

Spirit.” (Ac. 2: 38)

These words, of the Holy Spirit through the Apostle Peter, represent

the New Covenant in Christ’s blood. They express the demands or require-

ments of God and the promises those would receive who would obey God’s

New Covenant demands. This is the last Will and Covenant of God for all the

people of the world both Jews and non-Jews alike.

About “repentance” we studied in Thesis # 21. Other demands and

benefits of the New Covenant we will discuss in future Theses’.

One thing must surely be clear to you even at this point of our study.

The redemption doctrine of the Catholics, the Lutherans and other groups with

like teachings, don’t even come close to the Truth of the New Covenant. For

that reason they are unable to bring salvation to anyone.

Therefore I would like to admonish you, dear Reader, with the words of

the Apostle Peter, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation” of decei-

ving so called churches and their satanic influence on you.

        (Ac. 2:40b)
